Staff news

Hi folks, we will be sending out some information shortly about how we are progressing with our service recovery plan and updating you on the protocols for accessing our services, now that Glasgow is heading into Tier-4 restrictions this Friday.

But for now, we wanted to let you know that due to circumstances related to COVID, we have had to make the post of Fundraising Manager redundant. We are incredibly sad that Caroline McGuinness has now worked her last day at Revive MS Support, and that the charity has had to make this difficult decision.

Caroline has been an energyball of excitement and chatter since joining us in August 2017, and she has made many friends.

In her time with us she established a fantastic relationship with Jordanhill School, kicked off the first Sunshine Ball and instigated our centre fundraising events like the Centre Quiz, Prosecco Afternoon Tea and who could forget the Fish Supper Bingo Night?

Sadly, due to COVID-19 the charity has had to really tighten its belt to ensure the sustainability of the organisation. We hope by reducing the hours of all staff and operating a shorter week that the charity will still be around for years to come to deliver our vital services to those with MS. Unfortunately, there is no longer a need for this fundraising role when hospitality has essentially shut down and face-to-face events cannot take place for the foreseeable future.

Also at this time, our Outreach Clinics cannot be carried out, and as a result of this, we are also losing our Outreach Driver, Martin Frain. Our Outreach Coordinator Ann, has been redeployed within the Centre.

Revive has never been in this position before and it does not sit well with our ethos, but our goal is to never have to close our doors again when our clients need us. And that will be our driving force to see us through this terrible pandemic.

We wish Caroline and Martin well and know that a new adventure will be waiting for them just round the corner.
