Our MS Specialist Nurse Shelagh moves on to a new challenge after nearly two decades working with Revive.
Shelagh is the first port-of-call for all new clients that come through our door. When Shelagh first started with Revive MS Support 17 years ago, she joined us as a part-time complimentary therapist. Over the years, she became our MS Specialist Nurse and provided amazing support and advice, not only to our clients, but to fellow staff members as well.
We thank Shelagh very much for her passion and dedication to the charity for nearly two decades. While we wish her well in her new venture at McNeil House, she will be sadly missed by both staff and clients.
To help me out this farewell together, I asked staff members to send me some messages they would like to share, including memories of working with Shelagh.
Here are a few of the responses:
Definition of the name Shelagh from first-names-meanings.com:
Shelagh - we are in the presence of a deeply humane and altruistic individual with a powerful personality. Shelagh is extremely sensitive and remarkably intuitive. Such high vibrations incite her to advocate a better world and to take care of the most underprivileged people on this planet. Material contingencies are of secondary importance, as far as she is concerned. She is often an enlightened or inspired soul - with both knowledge and creative talent.
Need I say more! We will miss your intuition, humanity, sensitivity, and creativity……among many other things. Our love and thoughts are with you, as you go and make a difference to the lives of those in McNeil House.
Thank you for everything.
Love, Angela x
I will always be grateful that Shelagh introduced me to Revive about 12years ago by suggesting I come along and teach a class. I will miss her calm and kind presence. Jo Borthwick
Although Shelagh and I never really worked in the same place or on the same day for any great length of time, I always knew that she was there for advice, support or just a wee chat. In a lot of ways that hasn’t changed for me, we are still I different places on different days and now both in different jobs but I know that she is always there as a friend. Shelagh will be a huge asset to any organisation and a great loss to Revive.
Lots of luck and love in your new venture Shelagh.

Cannot believe that you are leaving after all these years of great service at Revive. Thank you for the times you have supported my Benefit Applications and Submissions and how easy it has been talking over anything with you. A true, caring professional and you will be missed. Best wishes to you in your new field of work and interest. Alan Steven
Over these seventeen years Shelagh has made a huge contribution to Revive and will most certainly be missed. I'm going to miss her testing emails - I sometimes wondered whether she had concocted these challenging clinical scenarios just to see how much I knew about HBO. They were, however, always underscored by a great compassion for each client about whom she was corresponding, completely in tune with the values and ethos of Revive.

I spent 11 happy years working with this wonderful colleague who was an inspiration to staff and clients alike. Her knowledge, wisdom and compassion will be sorely missed. She has an integrity, and a love for others that shines through all she does. Wishing her well in her new post.
Dear Shelagh! I will remember you especially for your expertise on all things maternity-related & your very helpful tips on getting baby into a good position ready for birth!! :0))
All the best with your exciting new adventure - I hope it is wonderful. Lydia x
