Importance of Diet and Nutrition on Multiple Sclerosis

In celebration of the ‘International Year of the Nurse and Midwife’ our MS Nurse, Moira Martin, submitted a research proposal around the importance of diet and nutrition on MS to the International Organization of MS Nurses (IOMSN).  It was selected by the IOMSN committee to receive the 2020 international Nightingale award. This award was given to 10 candidates in countries outside the US, and so the competition truly was global. The award was given for the development of a new or existing programme which enhances the lives of people living with MS.

Moira’s submission, aimed at integrating a diet and nutrition module into our existing ‘Making sense of MS’ programme, was judged by the board as worthy of the award! A quote from the IOMSN: ‘we felt your proposal will contribute to the expansion of MS nursing in a way that will have a lasting impact’.

Moira says: ‘I am delighted that the services Revive provides has been recognised and rewarded at this level, and I am honoured that I have been given the opportunity to take this work forward.’
