Our response to Covid-19

Is the Centre Open?
We are open 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday from 9.30am – 4.30pm. We are aiming to return to a 5-day week in October.
Will all services be running at the Centre?
We are currently offering appointments for Physiotherapy, Counselling, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Welfare & Benefits Advice and Speech & Language Therapy.
From Wednesday 1st September the café will be open again to everybody, so carers you do not need to stay outside anymore. There have been some small changes to the menu and snacks available…we are experimenting with healthier snacks in particular, but we will be reviewing this regularly.
In line with Government guidelines we will still be asking that people continue to respect 1m social distancing where possible. This will mean that there will be a maximum of three people to a table…so no shifting of table and chairs for just now. We still require people to adhere to wearing masks, and regularly cleaning hands/use of sanitiser.
We are also reinstating our sign-in procedure, so all people will need to sign in at front desk, or verbally sign-in to our reception staff…and remember to sign out. For months now we have been allowing people to enter straight into the extended physiotherapy gym…but this change means coming directly into reception area.
Also, we are recommencing our oxygen service, though for September this will only be on a Monday. From October this will extend to being offered on a Monday and a Friday. This is primarily due to us managing our staff resources; however we aim to return this service to five days a week as soon as possible.
With that announcement – yes, from October we will be returning to a full five day a week service. However this does not mean that our previously established Friday groups will be recommencing. We have been reviewing all our previous group activity and we will keep you posted on the new schedule of group activity that will be happening.
Another major announcement that I know will impact on many people is that we will not be re-commencing any of the Outreach services. I am aware that this has been a service that has been greatly appreciated by our clients, however the COVID pandemic has allowed us to look at our service and we will now be expanding our web-based services with the launch of our Revive MS Connect service. This will allow us to offer a wide range of services, groups and courses to anyone within the whole of Scotland…a very exciting development for Revive MS Support.
Many of these changes will, of course, be dependent on the National pandemic alert situation, something that is outwith our control. I should stress though, that should we need to reduce services again due to COVID we will still provide as many services as possible…we will not shut down totally.
