Pain Management

Pain is another “hidden” symptom of MS.  No matter how unusual MS-related pain may be, it is real pain which causes real suffering and can lead to depression.

A common belief is that pain is “all in the head”. This is not true! To help our users to understand their pain and to enhance their ability to manage it, we regularly organise pain management groups at Revive Scotland.

Pain management is based on the idea that not all pain can be cured, and therefore intervention aims at helping people to develop coping strategies, which in turns results in better control of their symptoms:

  • Reduction of the level of pain
  • Improved sleep
  • Lightened mood
  • Reduction of anxiety and anger
  • Improvement of energy level
  • Decrease sense of isolation.

These groups take places in blocks throughout the year.  Contact the office for more details.
