Trustee profiles

Revive MS Support is priveleged to have a talented and dedicated group of Trustees who are responsible for the smooth governance and strategic development of the charity.  They bring a broad range of expertise and experience to the table and we are grateful for the many, many hours they contribute as volunteers to this critical role.

Our current trustees are as follows: - 


Dr Neil Mackay MB ChB (Glasgow) (Chair)

Neil Mackay is married with 2 sons and a daughter, is the senior partner in a general medical practice in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire. Additionally, he is a GP trainer, a Hospital Practitioner in elderly psychiatry, club doctor for Dumbarton Football Club, Honorary BMA Divisional Secretary, and treasurer of the Western Medical Club. His hobbies include sailing, gardening and keeping fit.  Neil has been involved as medical adviser to Revive MS Support for many years  (particularly in relation to our oxygen therapy facilities) and became a trustee in 2005.


Dr Caroline Sincock BSc MSc PhD CPA MITMA (Vice Chair)

Originally a biological scientist and Patent Agent, Caroline is an Intellectual Asset (IA) and Intellectual Property (IP) specialist of over 20+ years’ experience, with innovation, commercialisation and product development expertise, gained from both public and private sector organisations. 

Most notably, Caroline was the founder of the world’s first Intellectual Assets Centre (IA Centre) in 2002, becoming its Chief Intellectual Assets Officer on its inception in 2003.  She left the Centre in 2006 and currently, under the name of “Passionate about Intangibles”, is delivering group training and consultancy in intangible asset management.  Caroline is known for her business networks and is also Chair of the Licensing Executives Society (Scottish Branch).  She has been a Trustee of Revive MS Support for 2 years. 

Caroline is married with one son and is a user of the Centre, having been diagnosed with MS for 18 years.  Caroline became a trustee in 2006.


 John A Boyle (Treasurer)
 
John, who recently joined the Board as Treasurer, has 23 years experience in the Financial Services industry. He is the Directory of his own company, Newton Financial Consultancy which provides Independent Financial Advices to a range of private and corporate clients.

He has tutored part time at the Centre for Life Long Learning at the University of Strathclyde.

John is married to Margaret and they have three children. His leisure time is spent either in the gym or on the hills. John had limited knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis through a friend’s illness.  However became much more aware in 2003 when his wife was diagnosed with primary progressive MS. It was from this point that he became involved in Revive MS and the important role it has in peoples’ lives.
